Rule 6. Court Interferences
Ball on: A ‘ball on’ occurs often so the usual protocol is any referee or player can call ‘ball on’ or ‘hold it’ as the ball approaches the court or lands inside the court at any time, even if a player feels it does not affect the rally.
Crack Ball: Most courts have at least one crack and the protocol for this happening on a serve is a redo aka a ‘Take 2’. If the crack is hit during a rally, it is considered a live ball and must be played like any other ball.
Fence: Ideally an event will not be thrown at a park with fences close to the court but in the event if it does happen then the protocol is that the fence is part of the court and you must adjust accordingly.
