KIDS RULEBOOK

KIDS RULEBOOK

The "kids version" of the rules is a simplified version of the official rules of the game, designed to be easier for young children to understand and follow. The rules have been adapted to make the game more accessible to children who are just learning to play, and to make it more fun and engaging for them.

Big Ball

1. You need a ball and a wall. Any ball will do, but it's best to use a rubber ball that bounces well. The wall can be any wall that's flat and sturdy, like a brick wall or a concrete wall. Just like tennis, it takes 2 or 4 players to start a game.

2. The game starts with one player serving the ball by hitting it against the wall. The ball must bounce once on the ground before it hits the wall. If this is a doubles game both players serve before getting DOWNED.

3. The other player must then hit the ball back against the wall before it bounces twice on the ground. If they miss the ball, or if the ball does not reach the wall the other player gets a point or if that person was serving they are downed.

4. The game continues like this, with players taking turns hitting the ball against the wall.

5. Only the serving team can score. When a player scores a point, they get to serve the ball again.

6. The first player to reach 21 points wins the game!

Remember to have fun and play fair. Good luck! Once you understand these simplified rules, congratulations! You're ready to move on to the full rules and compete at your best.

DOWNED - if you or your partner cannot reach the ball to the wall or hit the ball at all you will be ‘downed’
